The 5th Janana International Film Festival for Children and Youth took place between the 20th and 27th of October 2009 under the title “Youth on the Margin Create their World”. The festival targeted children and youth aged nine years and above and aimed at providing them with a platform for their creations and a space to express their issues and get introduced to different cultures from around the globe. Through this festival, a collection of films (fiction, documentary, animations, and puppets) done by children and young film-makers, or with their participation, were shown.
