Street Shows workshop:
Large Size Puppet Making

The workshop was scheduled to last for two hours daily but it often lasted for three hours from four till seven in the afternoon
• Mr. Sharif Abdel Nour was the trainer

The goal of the workshop was to learn the technique of making large size puppets for street shows and carnivals. The workshop demands high levels of precision as it involves the use of different materials like metal wires, newspapers, cloth and glue. Participants need to be committed in order to attain the goals during the assigned period, simultaneously sharing their ideas in the development of the life size puppets. Before the execution period the puppet is drawn and its shape and body are built, the way it is to be carried is also identified.

The participants were able to develop many life sized puppets during the workshop period. These puppets were displayed in the carnival that was organized on the last day of the camp. The puppets presented were a heart, an Ostrich and a snake.
