Broumana
High School Augsut
15th–23rd, 2007
Introduction
The Sixth Summer Camp in Brummana High School which took place from August 15 th to 23 rd 2006 was attended by 129 participants from 42 Lebanese and Palestinian Organizations working with children and youth, in addition to three Jordanian Organizations which are Safar Association, Rwad Association for Development, and the UNRWA, Zarkaa Camp, Amman. The workshop facilitation was conducted by 17 professional trainers of different nationalities ( Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Germany, Croatia, Sudan, Germany, Italy, Britain, and Australia). What was distinguished about this camp is the creation of workshops that focused on violence the children and youth undergo, on conflict transformation among individuals and groups, and on striving for a society free of psychological stress. Several workshops were designed to tackle those issues.
The organizers of the Summer Camp took specific interest in elevating the problems that the residents of Nahr Al-Bared and its surroundings went through. Hence, the opportunity was given to a huge number of animators and volunteers working in Northern Lebanon to participate in specialized workshops.
Goals of the Summer Camp
